Graduate Development Programme: Grants Management

Grants Management provides services across the spectrum of application-to-award activities: managing the Trust's grant-giving processes; helping and advising applicants; supporting the Trust's decision-making committees; building positive relationships with grantholders and their institutions; developing policies, systems and processes; and introducing innovative ideas into the way we fund. The Trust spends over £500 million a year on grants across three primary areas of activity: biomedical science, medical humanities and public engagement, and technology transfer. In Grants Management, we support all three.

We have a staff of 75, working in three main areas of activity: Grants Operations (who handle the grant applications), Central Services (who provide a range of business support services) and Committees and Coordination (who are responsible for our expert committees).

A rotation with us will give you an insight into how we manage the Trust's grant-giving operations, the processes and decision making that underpin these, and the support functions that create the framework for high-quality grants processing and management. You will be exposed to a broad range of the Trust's grant-related activity and gain an appreciation of the skills required to succeed in a key central business support role.

We are looking for service-oriented, customer-focused individuals who are approachable, open, helpful and enthusiastic. You will have the opportunity to get involved at some level in each of our three areas of activity and will also contribute to projects ranging across the department.
