Graduate Development Programme: Wellcome Collection - Business and Operations/Public Programmes
Wellcome Collection is a free visitor destination for the incurably curious.
The venue offers visitors contemporary and historical exhibitions and collections, lively public events and tours that explore the connections between medicine, life and art in the past, present and future. Our events and exhibitions have received wide acclaim and our visitor satisfaction ratings have consistently topped 96 per cent.
Our Public Programmes team is skilled at producing Wellcome Collection's creative multidisciplinary programme. Recent exhibitions have covered themes from 'Skin', 'The Heart' and 'Skeletons' to 'Sleeping and Dreaming' and ‘Dirt’; our partners have ranged from Antony Gormley, the V&A and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to Billy Bragg, the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo and Bobby Baker.
Our Business and Operations team is responsible for communications and visitor services - spanning gallery invigilation, visitor information, event management and content interpretation through our public tours programme. The team's expertise includes knowledge of seven languages and disciplines from art history and social anthropology to human genetics and nursing. Activities are diverse as private views for 300 people, live surgery events, clothes-optional tours by British Naturism and tattooing events.
During your time with Wellcome Collection's friendly, vibrant staff, you will become well versed in our approach to all stages of the development and delivery of our exhibitions and events programme - from first principles to satisfied visitors. This will include the day-to-day running of a small marketing office, the strategic management of communications and the critical management of the brand.
