75th activities at Wellcome Collection

Wellcome Collection Spotlight Tours
To find out more about the work of the Wellcome Trust, you could have joined one of our 'Spotlight' tours, led by a member of Wellcome Trust staff.
The spotlight was turned away from our galleries and onto some of the contemporary and historical artworks on display around Wellcome Collection that highlight some of the research projects and interests of the Trust.
This tour enabled people to see parts of Wellcome Collection not usually seen by the average gallery visitor and gave a real insight into the Wellcome Trust's work and ethos.
There was no need to book (though spaces were limited). People met their guide beside the Information Point on the ground floor of Wellcome Collection at 13.00 on the last Friday of each month.
During July and August 2011 our tours had a decidedly 75th anniversary flavour.
Wellcome Tweet Up Tour
#wellcometweetuptour was a special event to celebrate our anniversary with the people who follow the Wellcome Trust online. Those who follow the Wellcome Trust on Twitter were invited to apply for a place on an exclusive behind-the-scenes of the Trust's buildings at 215 and 183 Euston Road. The tour provided an insight into the Trust's history and a guide through some hidden away places in the Library, Wellcome Collection and our HQ rarely open to public view. Exhibition: Henry’s Legacy
From July 2011 visitors to Wellcome Collection enjoyed an exhibition highlighting some of the Wellcome Trust’s major achievements throughout its 75 year history, illustrated with the best of the Wellcome Library's images.
The exhibition introduced visitors to some of the key people behind the Trust's achievements, including the Human Genome Project; malaria drug discovery; funding of science and art collaborations; and research to understand the human brain. Read more about these people
