Teaching and education

We believe that the future of science depends on the quality of science education today. We have recently set out our commitments to science education in a strategy paper, which outlines our goals and priorities for science education from 2010 to 2020.

From these pages, you can access resources to help promote contemporary science in the curriculum, support teachers in the delivery of high-quality stimulating science education and enable young people to engage with biomedical science and the issues it raises.

Science Learning Centres A national network of centres offering high-quality professional development for those involved in science education, including secondary science teachers, primary teachers, technicians and those teaching citizenship.
International Science Education Conference This two-day international conference combined economic, cultural and educational perspectives on school science education.
Creative Encounters Interdisciplinary, collaborative projects featuring informal, creative approaches to bringing science to young people.
Scientific animations Watch or download our free-to-use animations on DNA sequencing, malaria, HIV and tuberculosis.

In addition to our education resources we have a series of education reports based on commissioned research that informs our education work and stimulates wider discussion about science education.
